FAQ

Questions, answered

If your question isn't here, send it on WhatsApp. There's no such thing as a silly question.

Getting started

When should we see a fertility specialist?

If you're under 35 and haven't conceived after a year of trying, or 35 or older after six months, it's a good time to come in. See a specialist sooner if you have irregular periods, PCOS, endometriosis, previous miscarriages or a known sperm problem.

Do both partners need to come to the first visit?

It helps a lot if you can come together. Fertility problems can involve either partner, and testing both at the start saves time. If that isn't possible, you're still welcome to come alone.

Does seeing a specialist mean we will need IVF?

Not at all. Many couples need only simple treatment, such as ovulation support or IUI, and some need just advice and time. IVF is recommended only when it really gives you the best chance.

How do I book a consultation?

The easiest way is to send a WhatsApp message with your name and a convenient time. You can also call the clinic. We'll confirm a time at the clinic or at Cheers Multi Speciality Hospital, whichever suits you.

About treatment

Is IVF painful?

Most people find it very manageable. The injections use fine needles, and egg collection is done under light anaesthesia. Mild bloating or cramping for a few days is common.

How long does one IVF cycle take?

From the start of stimulation to the pregnancy test usually takes four to six weeks. Your exact timeline depends on the protocol chosen for you.

What are my chances of success?

Success depends mostly on age, egg reserve, sperm health and the cause of infertility. We'll give you an honest, personal estimate once we've seen your test results, not a general figure.

Can I continue working during treatment?

Yes, most people do. You'll need some flexibility for monitoring visits, and it's best to rest on the day of egg collection.

Practical questions

What should I bring to my first visit?

Any previous reports, scans, prescriptions and treatment records, for both partners. If you don't have any, that's fine. We'll start fresh.

Will I know the costs before starting?

Yes. Before any treatment begins, you'll get a clear plan with the expected costs, so there are no surprises.

Is my information kept confidential?

Always. Your medical information is private and handled with care, in line with medical confidentiality and Indian ART regulations.
