Fertility Evaluation

Good treatment starts with a clear diagnosis. A fertility evaluation looks at ovulation, egg reserve, the uterus and tubes, and sperm health, so the plan is based on facts.

Why testing comes first

Fertility treatment works best when it’s aimed at the actual cause. Without a proper evaluation, couples can spend months on treatments that were never likely to help.

A fertility evaluation gives you and Dr. Nimisha a clear picture. For many couples, the results point to a simple fix. For others, they show that moving to IVF sooner would save time and stress.

Understanding your results

You won’t just receive a stack of reports. Dr. Nimisha will go through every result with you, explain what it means in plain words and talk through the options that follow from it.

Bring what you already have

If you’ve had tests or treatment before, bring those reports to your first visit. It helps avoid repeat tests that aren’t needed.

What to expect

The process, step by step

  1. 01

    Detailed history

We talk through your cycles, medical history, any past pregnancies and treatments, and lifestyle, for both partners.

  2. 02

    Hormone tests

Blood tests such as AMH, FSH, LH, thyroid and prolactin show how the ovaries and hormones are working.

  3. 03

    Ultrasound

A pelvic scan checks the uterus and ovaries and counts the small follicles that show egg reserve.

  4. 04

    Tubal check

A test such as an HSG or sono-HSG checks whether the fallopian tubes are open.

  5. 05

    Semen analysis

A simple test of the male partner's sperm count, movement and shape.

Questions

About Fertility Evaluation

Do both partners really need to be tested?

Yes. Fertility problems can come from either partner or both. Testing together saves time and helps us choose the right treatment from the start.

How long does the evaluation take?

Most tests can be done within one menstrual cycle. Some hormone tests and scans are timed to particular days of your cycle.

What if all the tests are normal?

This is called unexplained infertility, and it's more common than people think. There are still effective treatment options, and we'll talk them through with you.
